The topic of risk has usually been linked to the delivery of a bank loan; however, the possibility of loosing money when interest rates rise or fall, or stock or bonds process change in the stock market, or commodities rates, has become more latent in the last years. He also explained that the last Peruvian Law of Banks is the first legislation that incorporates the issue of market risk. "Previously a bank had a bond it was considered an investment to maturity; then if the price fell one could not register that loss and this didn't allow to have a picture of our risk in certain moment", he stressed. "Anteriormente un banco tenía un bono y se consideraba como una inversión a vencimiento; entonces si el precio del bono se caía uno no registraba esa pérdida lo que no permitía tener una foto de nuestro riesgo en determinado momento", remarcó.
